The Early Intervention class at Lake Munmorah Public School is operated by the Department of Education.
On the Central Coast of NSW there are four Department of Education Early Intervention classes which are located at:
- Woy Woy Public School
- Narara Public School
- Killarney Vale Public School and
- Lake Munmorah Public School
The Department of Education Early Intervention classes are a small component of the total provision of Early Intervention services in NSW and complement programs which are in the main provided and/or funded by other government or community based agencies. The Department Of Education Early Intervention programs offer assistance to children aged three to six years with diagnosed special needs. These programs promote an active partnership between families, early intervention services, support agencies and future schools.
At Lake Munmorah Public School the Early Intervention program provides students with either a resource (support) program or a small group (class) session. The small group (class) session provides a play based preschool program. Central to this play based program are individual learning plans developed for each child in consultation with parents and other involved services. The resource program supports inclusion in prior to school settings and builds the capacity of Early Childhood services to support high quality inclusion and transition to school practices.
Applications are made through your local school.
